Answers:
no health insurance company will cover lasik, no concern how desperate you feel you are. *especially* not a state-run vigour insurance company like medicaid.

the best you can ask for is to hold it financed. lets see...$4000 ($2000 per eye) at 7% interest over 60 months and no downpayment would be what? roughly $80/mo?

every lasik surgeon contained by my town offers financing.
Financing for Lasik is widely available. Some trance insurance plans have contracted discounts next to national chains. Some national chains advertise $299 per eye, but the truth is that the average cost is $1,400 to $2,600 per eye.

You mention that you are inept to wear contact lenses. If this is due to dry eye, then Lasik may be a poor choice for you. Lasik can induce or exacerbate dry eye. This is usually transient, but the dry eye needs to be treated and manage before you consider Lasik.

Dry eye treatment would drastically likely be covered beneath your state’s Medicaid program.

The other, and quite possibly overriding concern, is what you seem to be to expect from Lasik. With glasses, contacts, or Lasik, you are alike person. Expecting Lasik to formulate such a wide-reaching difference from not feeling "handicapped" to varying your self-confidence is a lot to ask from something that, at most, may stifle your need for corrective lenses.

Reasonable expectations are called for with an elective surgery approaching Lasik. I think you may be expecting too much, plus in attendance is no guarantee that you will be free of glasses after Lasik. What would you do if you spent adjectives that money and didn't get what you thought you would find?

You may want to consider advanced technology contact lenses. They are a little pricey, but are much smaller number than Lasik. The newer materials are rather comfortable (even for folks with dry eyes) and a moral doctor can assure proper fit. You can even get colored contact lenses. This is something to consider and explore.

Very best of luck doesn`t matter what your decision.
LASIK Laser Eye Surgery Process

Most often a protective clear plastic shield will be applied-like safekeeping glasses-to prevent you from rubbing your eyes or in overnight case you get bumped accidentally. Pay watchful attention to the detailed instructions your doctor gives you concerning additional drops to use at home and when to return for your first call round.

You will need someone to drive you home. To be most comfortable, you should stir home and take a long sleep. When you awaken you will notice several things. First you will awareness a dramatic improvement within your vision. It will most probable not be as good as it will obtain in a few days as your eyes will want to continue to restore to health.
