Has anyone had custom PRK eye surgery?
Answer:
I have PRK on the right and Lasik on the left 3 years ago. My figment of the imagination, 48 hours after the procedure was better than 20/20 on the PRK eye. I be very nearsighted, not competent to see the big "E" on the eye chart unless I was right resting on it!! I have to utter the discomfort that I had for give or take a few 4 days was okay worth it. Overall, I was sensitive to street lamp for about a month. Believe it or not, I am not nearly as pallid sensitive as when I wore contacts (20 years of looking for my sunglasses). I had no problems, not even dryness. It took a couple of months for everything to be 100%. I yearning I would have done it much sooner! Also the vanished eye, where I have lasik was heal in going on for 5 days. No issues. I just have my 3 year check up last week--still 20/20. Make sure you enjoy done your research on the doctor who will perform the surgery--how copious procedures has he done and kind sure the equipment is the newest available. Also--if the price is too angelic to be true, then run. Good luck.
First of adjectives, I don't believe that any reputable doctor will guarantee 20/20. It is a surgical procedure and things can happen. It is a terrifically reliable surgery but occasionally things happen. Second, PRK removes the surface blanket of the eye (epithelium) and the treatment is performed on the cornea. It take about 7 - 10 days for the epithelium to alleviate. You get most of the benefit right away but it can pocket 6 months to a year to reap the total benefit.
I have attached a correlation to a web site call ask lasik docs. even though lasik is not exactly the same procedure it have some great information. also, they used to have a bulletin board where on earth you could post questions for doctors to answer. Good luck.
I have Lasik and the pain be gone the next morning.I had instantaneous results.I was driving the subsequent day.Lasik is more expensive ,but absolutely worth it in my judgment. If I had to be in motion through that pain for longer than a morning,I don't know how.My cousin had PRK and he have a long recovery (pain)and have poor night phantasm.Lasik involves cutting a flap on the surface and replacing the flap after the surgery. The probability of good results are greatly superior with Lasik because you don't enjoy to regrow the entire surface of the cornea as in PRK.
