Any guidance on laser eye surgery?
If yes, how long would it later before it deteriorates. I ask this because I hear that after ten years you can loose your eye sight.
Can someone please communicate me if i can get the procedure right in a minute and how long it would last?
Thank you.
Answers: The big concern is stability of your sight right now. You don't want lasik until your prescription have stabilized, otherwise in a few years you'll call for glasses/contacts again. Most lasik places offer a free initial consultation to see if you would be a applicant. The doctor will also check out the thickness of your cornea (as very well as a few other things) to make sure it is right for you.
In some cases you may entail a "tune up" (basically a repeat of the procedure) if your vision drifts out again. Some places will proposal to cover tune ups for free. Also there is a occasion that your vision will not be that righteous in one or both eyes, and you will obligation to get it redo.
Eventually (late 30s or in your 40s) your reading daydream may start to go out. This is inevitable for most of us, whether or not we take lasik. Lasik won't correct for this, since it can correct for reading vision or distance phantasm, but not both. Some people go and get one eye corrected for reading, the other for distance.
Hi -- I wore contacts for 30 years. Liked to work outside, so had to wear goggles so that my contacts wouldn't get dirty and hurt.
Loved the contacts as compared to eyeglasses.
Had Laser surgery nine years ago. I was more nearsighted than you, and I asked that they fix my departed eye for reading and my right eye for long distance.
After the Laser surgery, which was on a Friday, I returned to work on Monday. I departed work early to enjoy a follow-up eye exam, and everything was unfaultable. In addition, I can read beside both eyes and see distance with both at 20-20. The right eye still see distance better.
Following the Laser surgery, they simply asked that I stay in bed for at least possible 36 hours and try not to move my head too much.
I have no pain, and still own great vision.
My doctor have done a follow-up and I do not yet call for more correction. (I'm now 73 y/o) If my eyes capture worse, he will do them again (at less cost than I rewarded originally.)
Get someone who has done profusely. Best of luck
You can have laser eye surgery at any age. No, it does not ever deteriorate. Go for it!! I have it done on one eye only, to impart me monovision. One eye sees close up, so you can read minus glasses, the other see far objects. It is reversible up to 2 yrs if you aren't happy near the results. The exam is free, and very through. You'd own to pay abundantly for this exam anywhere else. Check it out. You're not obligated to make a verdict on the spot. You can take your time. i get my surgery in 1997. that make it 11 years for me. i was a -10 and a -9.75. they weren't competent to fully correct my vision to 20/20 because my retinas be too taut. but i come in to a 20/25 and i be grateful, because i could wake up and see my son's smiling facade clearly without have to put on my coke-bottle-bottoms first. i still don't wear glasses, except when it's unsettled at night and i'm driving.
i would suggest seriously conversation to an opthalmologist about your concerns, or gain the names of the best lasik/vizex/prk/pk practitioners within your area.
dutiful luck, and happy seeing!
I infer it's a good notion, but that's only my inference.
If you're gonna do it, you should think of doing it when
you really want it. Also make sure that the soul
your optometrist is doing it right because if he makes
a mistake it could be completely bad for you within the future.
So brand sure that you get the right soul to do it
for you.

Well I'm 22 and have all laser interlase lasik eye surgery ultimate Thursday and love it already. I went to my 24 hour follow up on friday and my delirium is now 20/20 (I be classified as legally blind previously the procedure). The first 24 hours were plainly uncomfortable (I slept most of it though). I be told by my surgeon that due to my age there is a 30% arbitrary that I will need what they telephone call an enhancement procedure within 10 years. However my surgery came near 100% lifetime guarantee so if I do need an fortification I won't need to earnings again which is nice since the procedure did cost me $4000. Like the other posters have suggested stir to a free consolation and find out if you are a candidate (I in reality went to a few places). I terminated up going to Lasik Plus (http://www.lasikplus.com/), they have tons of locations. During the consolation you bascially move about through a very contained by depth eye exam to check various things (one of the big ones is carrying out tests the thickness of your cornea (if they're not that tacky it will limit which types of lasik surgery you may know how to get, if any). Generally they won't do surgery if your nightmare has not be stabilized for at least 1-2 years. Also, your fantasy is not very discouraging so they may still recommend you wait a few more years. Just remember within are risks but the recent FDA complainants are not new (or really lot when you consider how lots people own had it done), the Fourth Estate just focuses on them every once surrounded by a while. The key is to kind sure you find a surgeon that you feel comfortable surrounded by that is feeling like to answer any questions you may enjoy. Also the poster that said the surgery is reversible for up to 2 years is totally wrong! Enhancements can be preformed, but there is no course the procedure can be reversed.
