Astigmatism!?
Answers: Not being able to wear colored contacts does not miserable that your astigmatism is really bad. Colored contacts to correct astigmatism are only made contained by the most common prescriptions. My contact lens is plano -1.25 axis 60 which is considered to be in the mild to moderate scale. I looked at Freshlook colorblends toric and they make them in the correct power, but not for the axis of my astigmatism.
Contact lenses hold less minification/magnification than eyeglasses because they are closer to your eye. If your accustomed to wearing a minus lens (nearsighted) prescription and switch to contacts images will appear closer to their actual size. Minus lenses will variety objects appear smaller and plus lenses make them appear larger.
I assume you are nearsighted so look at your eyes in the mirror near your eyeglasses on and you should notice that your eyes appear smaller. If you remove your eyeglasses then they will be conventional size.
I hope this helps :)
Contact lenses for astigmatism are very specialized. They're weighted to support them stay in a certain position so they fit into the flat spots (that's what astigmatism is - flat spots on the lens). Here's the problem near your vision with the lenses: Lenses for astigmatism don't work for both standard vision, and reading. It's either or. Often an eye doctor will prescribe one lens for respectively. Example: Right lens for general vision. Left lens for reading. Then you enjoy to get used to reading with one eye. Something several people don't want to bother with. Most relatives opt for lenses and reading glasses. Why things look bigger with lenses as challenging glasses is better answered by you eye doctor. It could have to do near the strength of each. Some people of late think they look thinner with goggles because the frames are generally wider than their face. I basically got Acuvue Oasys and I love it. I have astigmatism contained by both eyes, and I'm terribly picky about my lenses. The Oasys is a ordinary lens, which means I don't have as crisp and clear verbs as with Toric lenses. But to me the toric are very uncomfortabe since they don't own them available for dry eyes. (Although Acuvue is making a Toric version of the Oasys that I can't wait to try!)
As for colors, I don't remember seeing them contained by Toric lenses.
No, you cant wear normal colored contacts. I have for a moment astigmatism...but its not that bad, so im okay for now, but your doctor is right. And yeah...i gain that feeling too, about things looking bigger near htem on. Its because the lens is right on your eye, in comparison to the glasses that are away from your eyes Cool I want those specs lol. It sounds like you have a severely bad astigmatism that is why in that isn't a lot of choices at this time. Contacts are closer to your eye so they give a much clearer sign than glasses unless the doc. made an error in your prescription.
It is my evaluation that contacts are bad for your eyes (my eye surgeon supports this idea), and lasik is a voluntary procedure that can indeed go extremely wrong.
Glasses are for people who care to see clearly short affecting their bodies.
I have astigmatism in my right eye and I own to wear a Toric lens instead of a regular one. I don't know if colored contacts make a Toric lens...
That's weird roughly speaking your glasses...maybe because of the curvature?
perchance with the prescription you wear and with the astigmatism in attendance not as common. probably a good guess that your eyes are pretty desperate but its pretty hard for anyone on LasikAnswer.com to tell you that. Feel your misery. I have struggled w/ uncomfortable contacts. Ask your dr. in the order of Baush & Lomb PureVision. I love them butI don't know if they come in color.
The most recent perscription is $110 for 6 pairs through 800 contacts.
