You know, it's there near the center of your mirage whenever you look at something bright, but you can never look directly at it... Answers:    What you are describing is called a floater, which is deeply a build up of debris in the vitreous fluid.
They are not duration or sight threatening but are a hinderance. They can occasionally be a symptom of other things such as vitreous separation which again is normal surrounded by older people, and smaller number so in younger people.

actually, it's bacteria. There are millions of them on your eyes and adjectives over your body. Close your eyes, you'll see other shapes of things too, not just "squiggly".
Take a microbiology class, they will tell you adjectives about the things in your eyes. You may be describing what is commonly call a "floater" which is like a piece of black string that floats over the front of your eye. Your eye doctor can advise you.
