Laser eye surgery?
Answers: Well I'm 22 and had all laser interlase lasik eye surgery nearly a month ago and love it. My vision is now 20/20 (I be classified as legally blind before the procedure). The first 24 hours be definitely uncomfortable (I slept most of it though). I be told by my surgeon that due to my age there is a 30% chance that I will call for what they call an enhancement procedure contained by 10 years. However my surgery came with 100% lifetime guarantee so if I do want an enhancement I won't need to pay packet again which is nice since the procedure did cost me $4000. Go to a free consolation and find out if you are a candidate (I actually go to a few places). I ended up going to Lasik Plus (http://www.lasikplus.com/), they have tons of locations. During the consolation you bascially walk through a very in depth eye exam to check a variety of things and discuss all possible complications (one of the big ones is testing the mass of your cornea (if they're not that thick it will limit which types of lasik surgery you may be capable of get, if any). Generally they won't do surgery if your vision have not been stabilized for at least 1-2 years. Just remember at hand are risks but the recent FDA complainants are not new (or really a lot when you consider how lots people have have it done), the press just focuses on them every once contained by a while. The key is to make sure you find a surgeon that you be aware of comfortable in that is prepared to answer any questions you may have.
This is the best entity ever I know alot of people who have have laser surgery and I am in the process of getting it done. Everyone I know who went through have said nothing but good things!
Despite the pluses, in that are some disadvantages:
Changes made to the cornea cannot be reversed after LASIK laser eye surgery.
Corrections can only be made by additional LASIK laser eye surgeries.
LASIK laser eye surgery is expensive, typically costing $2,200 to $2,250 per eye; though compared to the cost of specs and contact lenses, the price is reasonable.
LASIK laser eye surgery is technically complex. Problems may occur when the doctor cuts the flap, which can lastingly affect vision.
LASIK laser eye surgery can cause a loss of "best" phantasm with or without eyeglasses at 1 year after surgery. Your best vision is the highest point of vision that you achieved while wearing your contacts or eyeglasses.
What Are the Potential Side Effects of LASIK Laser Eye Surgery?
Some patients experience discomfort surrounded by the first 24-48 hours after surgery. Other side effects, although rare, may include:
Glare
Seeing halos around similes
Difficulty driving at night
Fluctuating vision
Dry eyes
The FDA have found no long-term side effects from LASIK laser eye surgery
Laser eye surgery is very safe at the moment. My cousin got her dental implants and Lasik surgery surrounded by India by a company called Indian Health Guru Consultants. The Price for dental and Lasik surgery is very smaller quantity in India. She paid 25% of the price she be quoted in America.
Indian Health Guru Consultants is very recognized in India They arrange Dental surgery, jaw surgery, Lasik eye surgery, Dental Implants etc for foreign patients surrounded by India. I read a lot about them contained by the Newspapers and magazines- about their patient stories.
They arrange financing for USA, Canadian, UK and other international patients who plan to hold surgery abroad for low cost, as dental and eye surgery is not covered by insurance. They also have photos paste of their International patients. You can checkout their website. There are huge cost savings. As a doctor I personally believe that surgery can be slickly handled in India, as the trait of healthcare available In India is simply best in the world. The surgeons are USA/UK trained and facilities are 5 star.
