Contacts lenses safe?are glasses better??
My eye doctor says I am nearsighted should I get contacts or glasses and are contacts dangerous??Answers: I would suggest getting glasses first, you can always get contacts later on, if you want. Even if you were going to wear contacts all the time, you would still want to have a pair of glasses for "emergency use" in case you rip or lose a contact, get pink eye, scratch your eye etc. The only exception to this is if your perscription is so "wimpy" you hardly need it (you could drive and function without them). I know people who had really bad vision and only had contacts and for one reason or another couldn't wear them for a few days; it was a crisis; they couldn't drive to get to work etc etc!
Contacts aren't dangerous if you take care of them and follow the directions, unfortunately, many people don't.
yeah, they're safe.
as long as you take good care of them anyways!
like keeping hands clean while handling lenses, or not leaving them in for too long...
but other than that, they are safe.
more comfortable too =]
i like them better than glasses
Today just about everyone can wear contact lenses, and there are more healthful and convenient contact lens options than ever before. Contact lenses are used to correct the same conditions that eyeglasses correct. For all details, information and remedies about contacts check out http://use-contactlens.blogspot.com/
My eyes become unfocused with contacts. Why?
I've just started recently wearing contact lenses. They were fine for the first 2 days. However, I lost my solution and container for a night, and had to keep my contacts in a bottle of water. Now, when I put them on, my eyes become unfocused if I do not blink. Once I blink, my eyes are focused again. I have also noticed there is a very small nick in the edge of my right contacts. Are my contacts "broken" or have my eyes had some sort of reaction to them? I don't have this effect while wearing spectacles.Answers: Your first mistake was putting them in water..im 18 i've been wearing them since i was 12..water doesn't cleanse them and get rid of the protein built up on them. I've done it before many times. put them in the solution and they should be fine
uhh get some more solution and a new case and DONT put them in water. DUH and why dont you just bat your eyelashes to get them focused? you might get a girl while your at it.
How bad is my eye glasses presciption?
My presciption says I have -1.00 in both eyesAnswers: Not bad at all.
You would probably be just legal driving without glasses.
(Not that that's a good idea: it's lethal out there, and you need all the edge you can get.)
Anything nearer than 1 metre is in perfect focus until you run out of accommodation close to your nose (how close depending largely on your age).
That's the lowest prescription that a reputable optometrist would prescribe corrective lenses for, normally. You are very slightly nearsighted/shortsighted.
