Will my lenses appear too gooey in a half-rimeless frame? prescription is -4.75 & -4.5?

Using 1.67 High Index Lenses

od -4.75 -.75 180
os -4.50 -.25 170

I be looking at a frame that was partially rimelss (rims at the top, nothing on the bottom). But will my prescription look too tacky if the glasses don't enjoy full rims?
Answers: Using the Hi Index lenses (are the best) I wear a frame like that and one of the things I do to diminish the "frosted boundary look" is to have the edges polished- which make for a much more attractive pair of specs. Given, more lense will show- but I wouldnt worry - Only that larger frames will form the lenses thicker.
Only if you have a particularly small lens/frame. Otherwise, the 1.67 should be just fine. If you'd close to the added look of narrowness, look into an aspheric lens (most 1.67 are anyway) and get the edges rolled/polished. It'll thieve extra time for the handling of the lens but worth it.

Were can i buy eyes glasses without prescription lens?

my friend is filming a student film, and needs me to find glasses. My eyes are 20/20 so i need to find nonprescription lens.
Answers: You should be able to get them at any optical store. Just explain what you're looking for and why. They might even have some discontinued styles that they can give you for free.
any optican should be able to do that for you- it is just like buying glasses though- same price rx or not.

What's wrong with my eye? Pink eye? Something else?

I wear contacts, have for over 20 years...the kind you wear for 30 days and throw away. They are about 3 weeks old.

Last night my eye began to feel like something was in it. It became red, scratchy, very painful, very sensitive to light and there is a constant stream of tears running down my face.

I managed to sleep. I'm waiting for a doctor to open. This morning is the same, except the scratchy feeling is lessened and more of a throbbing ache. no pus or goop, just tears and now slight burning.

This seems more serious than pink eye, more painful. What could it be? Should I wait 1.5 hours for a regular doctor or go to the ER?
Answers: allergy or corneal problem , so did you go
Once again, don't go to the ER for eye problems. You'll only get a higher bill, a longer wait, and some old medication that you probably don't need anyway. Grab a phone book, look up some eye doctors and find one that does 24 hr emergency care and get this taken care of the right way.
