Can an eyedoctr answr this or someone who knows as much?
Ok I have mild ptosis and it makes one eye look smaller and different (like an asian type of eye instead of a wide opened eye). I went to an eyedctr and he told me he won't try to fix it because chances are it'll end up worse.I have a question though: when I cry, the eye with ptosis gets fully, wide opened u don't see any difference between the 2 eyes (4 a couple of days)
Why does that happen?
Answers: Maybe because the inflamed tissue pushes the lid upwards? I am a physician's assistant, not an ophthalmologist, but i've seen cases of mild ptosis *when caused by Graves' Disease or thyroid problems* that spontaneously go back to normal condition. You can help yourself, though.
Besides following the required treatment to cure the cause, try not to smoke (ever), sleep with your head slightly elevated, drink enough fluids, and follow a diet rich in green leaf vegetables, soy, fish (especially cold water fish) and omega fatty acids. Sleep at least 8 hours every night and exercise to relief tension.
More likely the crying makes the other eye's lids puffy so it resembles the ptosis eye ie the "good" eye gets less wide open.
I accidently slept next to my contacts in later night...?
ive never slept near them on before, except ultimate night cuz it be a rough night, i be crying in bed and i purely fell asleep and totally forgot to take em rotten. and this morning it was really concrete to open my eyes, and when i finally took out my contacts, it be really hard to keep hold of my eyes open. idk if its cuz my contacts, or cuz my eyes be puffy from crying or a combination of both, but my eyes were really teary, and it hurts when i keep hold of them open. and it hurts when i look into the desk light.i showered, and waited to see if it would support, and it did for a bit, but it still hurts when its bright around me. should i just loaf it out to see if it would go away? or should i be worried. right in a minute their feeling a bit better but it might hurt if i move around again. any suggestions would be great, gratefulness.
Answers: I am notorious for falling asleep near my contacts in, ur eyes are newly really dry and oxygen deprived right now...tolerate them have a rest and carry some air...sleeping is not counted as letting ur eyes breathe, they want to be open. Try some visine or use some of ur contact solution to preserve them hydrated, and dont rub them! If ur really worried, u can go see ur eye doctor, but I seriously reflect on ur fine, if the contact didnt rip, theres probably no damage. U be crying (dehydrating ur eyes) and u slept with ur contacts within (oxygen deprivation), they arent gonna feel too great, u'll be fine tho!
Don't pilfer them out yet. Go shower again and consent to the steam saturate your contacts a bit. Then put a drop of two of contact solution into respectively eye. Then you should be okay to take them out.
Take em out, sit them contained by solution for a few minutes, you'll be fine.
I sleep with my contacts surrounded by a few times out of the week. it gives my eyes a dry inkling. Your not supposed to but I get tired.
So for your first time, its not a bleak thing.
Crying next to contacts sucks! that is why you are feelign the passageway you do. Give your eyes some rest today and put them back on latter or tomorrow.
But I hope everything is ok with you!
You can attain eye infections and corneal abrasions by sleeping surrounded by your contacts (the kind you can and the open-handed you can't sleep in). Some people are luck and sleep within them with no problem and some sleep contained by them once and get an infection. Go to an eye dr asap if you aren't notice improvement after a few hours from wake. optical chains often enjoy sunday appointments like walmart and lenscrafters and such.
Soft contact lenses?
what happens if you leave in daily wear contacts for over a year...the kind i have are colored and were to be good for a year only...i've been wearing them daily for like a year and 6mos...am i in grave danger?Answers: I wouldn't say "grave danger" the problem is that over time proteins from your eyes build up on your contacts and begin to affect their ability to "breathe". You should get a new pair (and I really hope you've been taking them out to sleep and cleaning them well each night). Depending on the amount of build up you can get an infection in your eye which would require the use of steroid eye drops for several weeks.
I do not believe you are in any kind of danger but it is important to properly take care of your lenses and you should definitley follow your doctor's advice on the wear time. Below is some steps that you should take in order to avoid any problems with your contacts and ultimately your eyes.
1. Probably the single most important task to do before handling contact lenses is to properly wash and rinse your hands. Hands are used to handle many different objects through out the course of a day; therefore they are incredibly susceptible to debris and germs. If your hands have debris or germs they could contaminate your lenses or worse yet your eyes. It is important to also rinse your hands after washing them in order to avoid any soap residue from rubbing off on to your contact lenses.
2. It is important to use the appropriate solution when rinsing your contact lenses. Follow the instructions carefully while cleaning and rinsing your lenses, some solutions require different steps.
3. When you are done using your contact lenses it is important to make sure that your contact lens case/container is free of any debris. Fill the case with the recommended disinfectant solution in order to kill any microorganisms that could be on your lenses. By following this last step you could avoid any risk of eye infection.

I have been working as a receptionist in an optometrist's office for almost a year now. During my time, I have come to realize that there are very FEW people who are responsible contact lens wearers.
Let me guess, you came in for a contact lens examination and got a free, TRIAL, pair of colored lenses. You never came back for a contact lens check and you NEVER even bought boxes.
Sound right? We get so many of these people. Every once in a while, they come back with an infection and we get to reviewing their chart and find out they've been wearing the same lens for FAR too long.
Do people not even care about the health of their eyes? Sure, it's not your heart or lungs, something that keeps you ticking, but when you cause yourself to go blind, or have vision loss (it can happen due to infections!), you can't get it back! So I would be more responsible with the eyes God gave you!
ANYWAY, you can cause damage to your eyes. Your eyes require oxygen just like the rest of your body and if you are wearing contact lenses for an extended amount of time (especially without taking them out at night), it can cause infections or WORSE.
Also, even if you wear contacts like Focus Night and Days that allow you to sleep in them (they allow more oxygen to get to your eye), it is still best to take them out for a day or two to give your eyes a break. They are only good UP TO 30 days. Everyone's eyes are different and some people probably have more protein build-up than others and it needs to be cleaned.
