Taking a Shower beside Contacts within?

I forgot to take out my contacts before i showered.
I tried cleaning them as thoroughly as possible,
I wasn't sure, if showering beside them in was doomed to failure or not.

So my question is,
is it ohkay, or not ohkay to swim/ or shower
with contacts surrounded by.

And if its bad, what are the risks?

Answers:    Swimming is risky, in that they can glibly float out of your eyes underwater and be lost. The extra chemicals can also be a hazard, getting trapped under the lens to irritate your eyes; I have a pretty severe reaction once where swimming beside new contacts actually scratched my eyes. It just lasted two days, but it was a miserable two days lying within bed with cold washcloths over my eyes; they burned if open, and the cold soothed them somewhat.

You really can't report yourself "I'll just keep my eyes closed underwater" -- you'll decline over, or have someone splash you, or duck you or other horseplay, and then a contact's gone or your eyes are burning. Either appropriate them out or wear goggles for swimming.

Shower is fine; just be reasonably tight-fisted, no opening your eyes while directly under the stream. If soap get in your eyes, it is harder to rinse out; you might have to grasp out and take your contact out and rinse it with solution mid-shower (brrr) but it should be fine.
With soft contacts, you should be fine showering (don't rub your eyes though), and swimming. Just wear goggles if you are going to own your head underwater.

Water getting in your eyes isn't going to impair your contacts. Even if the water is a little soapy, it will be flushed away and will not draw from under the contact or absorbed by it - your eye will flush that small amount away rapidly enough. Don't worry something like it.

If you have hard contacts, they are more predictable to come out while swimming or showering.
well water and soap wont hurt them within fact saline solution is just distilled sea and ive been told by my dr if im out of saline cold water is fine. in a minute i wouldnt suggest going swimming with them on unless u got the kindly i wear i put them in my eyes and there flawless for 30 days before i have to nick them out and i do everything with them but before i get these i had soft ones that i had to help yourself to out every night and one time in the shower i lost a duet they just came right out of my eyes. I enunciate get the soft kind that you can go away in your eyes for a month they rock and you'll love em!! It's best if you take them out to shower.
A lot of times we blink strong when we're in the shower
Soap and shampoo can run down to your eyes
If you're wearing makeup, some of it might get inside and irritate your eyes, especially if you're wearing contacts.
not really.

1. your contacts can drop out
2. you can get some nasty infections cuz shower hose and pool water have microbes that can get trapped in and lower than contacts and cause infections

i wudn't recommend it
Well I have be wearing contacts for about 7 years and I have worn them within the shower the whole time...but not the pool. Im not quite sure of the dangerousness of it adjectives but I do know its not good for your eyes. It's okay, but when you swim you risk getting stuff in them, and also they can float out..and when you shower it's sort of alike, minus floating out..
I shower with my contacts in adjectives the time. Just close your eyes when the water sprays your face. I even scuba dive wearing my contacts, I can't see thoroughly well without them and can't afford a special cover. I've worn contacts for 17 years and I've never taken them out to shower, I've never even heard of doing that.

I don't take them out to swim any.
and also the chlorine in the water can achieve in your contacts and irritate your eyes It's fine, I do it all the time. Just manufacture sure you don't get shampoo in your eyes.
desperate no no i wear my contacts in the shower, not in the pool and i'm fine...guess it depends from soul to person
is ok to wear lense to shower
